A representative of AKKUYU NUCLERA JSC will take part in International Ecological Conference AtomEco 2015

 

Moscow will house VIII International Exhibition and Conference AtomEco 2015. It will deal with discussion of implementation of the nuclear industry programs in the field of the radioactive waste (RW) and spent nuclear fuel (SNF) management. Vladimir Chudin, Director for Equipment, will participate in the event on behalf of AKKUYU NUCLERA JSC. The International Conference “Nuclear decommissioning: strategies, practices and challenges” will be arranged for the first time at the Exhibition. The Nuclear Energy Agency of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (NEA OECD) along with Rosatom State Corporation has arranged it.

 

The participants of AtomEco 2015 will be able to familiarize with the outcomes of the Russian Federal Target Program “Ensuring nuclear and radiation safety for 2008 and for the perion until 2015”. «Rosatom State Corporation has completed all indicators of the Program for 108.5% despite its sequestration by 8.4 bln. rubles» Sergey Kirienko, Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom, said at the meeting with Dmitriy Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, held last September.

 

The following round-tables will be arranged at AtomEco 2015: «Changes in legislation and new requirements in the field of environment protection: topical issues for nuclear industry», «Co-ordination of Rosatom State Corporation with the local self-government bodies and civil society», «New technologies and technical solutions in the field of the SNF management», «Outcomes of international cooperation when decommissioning Russian radioisotope thermoelectric generators” etc.

 

It is expected that leading experts and specialists in the field of the SNF re-processing, employees of the institutes and enterprises being a part of Rosatom SC and practically managing SNF. The representatives of the following foreign companies have invited to take part in the conference of the NEA OECD: JAPCO (Japan), ENSI (Switzerland), JAVYS (Slovakia), EDF (France), NUKEM Technologies (Germany), NDA (UK), SOGIN (Italy), Belgoprocess (Belgium), M+W UK (UK), STHAMMAR MUNICIPALITY (Swedenя), SSM (Sweden) etc. At the exhibition area Russian and foreign companies will display the state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

 

Vladimit Chudin, representative of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, told: «AtomEco is an international platform to discuss topics of interaction of the nuclear industry and environment. As of today Russia has developed and successfully applies the system of the environmental policy implementation meeting the highest standards. The issues of environmental safety for the nuclear industry are the first priority ones and are prerequisites for development of nuclear technologies and operation of nuclear facilities both in the Republic of Turkey and in other countries. I am convinced that in the nearest future thanks to the Akkuyu NPP construction project the Turkish atom for peace will occupy a noteworthy place among the traditional environment-friendly types of power generation».

 

The technical tour will be organized for the participants of AtomEco 2015 to the National Research Center Kurchatov Institute, one of the biggest research centers of Russia, and to the first nuclear power plant in the world, Obninsk NPP.
