AKKUYU NUCLEAR sent official greetings to the local residents of Gülnar and Büyükeceli with Children’s Day

 

On April 23 the employees of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC with the local residents of the city of Gülnar and the settlement of Büyükeceli in the province of Mersin (Republic of Turkey) attended ceremonies devoted to the National Sovereignty anniversary and Children’s Day.

Over 2 thousand participants gathered at the town’ stadium of Gülnar. Children from different schools showed creative numbers and took part in 100-meters and 400-meters races. The contest winners received souvenirs. Then groups of children presented dance routines and took part in the animation program.

Speaking before the participants Ekrem Güngör, Head of the Gülnar Region Administration, stated: “Today we celebrate the 98th anniversary from the date of convention of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The primary objective falling on the shoulders of our children are: to preserve the heritage of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, to make Turkey strong and independent, to embody the ideal of new Turkey through cutting-edge scientific achievements, and for that end our young generation needs comprehensive development”

Eyyüp Lütfi Sarıcı, Head of the Public Information Center of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, while addressing the guests of the festive event, said: “On the occasion of the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day the Regional Education Directorate prepared for children that attractive event supported by AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, which builds the first nuclear power plant in Turkey. The project is designed for more than 100 years. Many of you will get a good education and become members of our big friendly team. We are happy to be with you and share with you joy on this memorable day. May luck and success always accompanies you!”

The ceremonies on occasion of the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day also were held in the secondary school of the settlement of Büyükeceli. Burcu Düztaş, Specialist of the Public Information Center of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC, sent official greetings to the local residents and children. The pupils of the Büyükeceli’ school read poems and showed different creative numbers. Animators, clowns and characters of popular children’s cartoons entertained the children. Besides, the trampoline and inflatable play set for kids were installed in the school yard.
