Alexander Superfin appointed the Vice-President of Rusatom Overseas CJSC. Fuad Ahundov became the Chief Executive Officer of AKKUYU NPP JSC


Sergey Kirienko, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, discussed in Ankara the issues of the Akkuyu NPP construction project implementation during his working visit to the Republic of Turkey.


When meeting Taner Yidiz, Turkish Minister of Energy, the head of Rosatom presented a new manager of the AKKUYU NPP JSC Project Company, Fuad Ahundov, who would enter upon his duties from April 01, 2014.

Fuad Ahundov was born in 1966 in Baku (Azerbaijan), he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy as well as the Texas University Business School (USA). F. Ahundov started his carrier in 1986 within the USSR Ministry of Defense. Since 1991 he worked in public agencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, where held various posts in the State Committee for Economics and Planning, in the Administration of the President of the Republic. In 1993 F. Ahundov was appointed the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and led the working group during negotiations with the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and World Bank.

From 1995 through 2001 F. Ahundov held the post of the Chairman of the Executive Board of the International Bank of Azerbaijan, then he began his work in Russian financial establishments, namely, he worked as a President of the Executive Board of the Uralsib Bank from December 2003 through October 2006. Now he is a Chief Executive Officer of Znak OJSC and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Management Company «URALSIB Asset Management». Fuad Ahundov is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Uralsib Corporation. He has good command of Azerbaijani, Russian, English and Turkish. He is married and has three children.


According to Sergey Kirienko, the former CEO of the Project Company Alexander Superfin has been appointed a Vice-President of Rusatom Overseas (an affiliate of Rosatom SC). He will be responsible for business development of the Russian Corporation in North America.
