They have been selected in the course of some regional castings from more than 450 teen-age candidates. The experienced teachers, choreographers helped the young talents; and the result of such mutual efforts was a musical show staged after the specially written scenario named “Ask Rutherford”.

The premiere of the musical took place at the new stage of the Russian State Academy Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin (Alexandrinsky Theater) in Saint Petersburg after three weeks of preparatory activities. Later the musical was shown in Novovoronezh (Russia), where Novovoronezh NPP2, reference nuclear power plant for Akkuyu NPP, is under construction. The children team performed before the residents of the Hungarian city of Paks, which is a satellite town of the nuclear power plant built under the Russian technologies, Paks NPP, and in the city of České Budĕjovice (Czech Republic).

Aylin Tumay, participant of «Nuclear Kids 2015» from Turkey, shared her opinion before the performance at the Moscow stage: “We have very good teachers on the project – stage director, choreographer, voice coach. The musicale has been shown at various theater stages, but nevertheless emotions take place. It is said that it is quite normal, and all novice actors experience such a feeling. My mom will especially fly from Ankara to Moscow to attend the premiere. I’m sure that I shall never forget the project and my friends from different countries, whom I have met here”.

The author of the idea, the head of the communication department of Rosatom State Corporation, Sergey Novikov told: «The Russian nuclear industry celebrates its 70th anniversary. And we decided to devote our show to the childhood of Igor Kurchatov – world renowned nuclear scientist. We imagined what kind of person young Igor could be at the age of the project participants (11-16 years old). The protagonist craves for knowledge, commits acts and protects friends ».
