Turkish students will take part in the tournament of professionals “TeMP 2014”

  

The Turkish students learning in the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (NRNU MEPhI) will participate in the Tournament of young professionals “TeMP 2014”. Rosatom, Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation and Rosatom’s Corporate Academy act as organizers of the event. The goal of the Tournament is to attract young specialists to enterprises of the nuclear industry. The first Tournament took place in 2011. The graduating students of the NRNU MEPhI and other technical Universities competed for the title of the best. The “TeMP 2014” Tournament brought together teams of 22 enterprises, and at the Witology platform (on-line system allowing discussion of questions by participants situated at long distances from each other) above 1,500 students and young specialists from various cities of Russia have registered. One of the main features of the 2013 Tournament is that students from Turkey, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Ukraine participated in the event. The final of the international tournament of young professionals was housed by the Atomic Energy Institute of NRNU MEPhI (town of Obnionsk, Russia), where the students from Turkey were learning nuclear energy.

 

Participation in TeMP allows obtaining new knowledge, approving oneself, collaborating with nuclear industry professionals solving large-scale tasks. Within two months the Turkish students divided into four teams developed a project “Development of the energy market of Turkey given the nuclear energy. Measures to change the public opinion with regard to the nuclear energy in the Republic of Turkey”. They identified competitive advantages of developing the nuclear energy in Turkey, prepared the public outreach action plan with regard to NPP advantages in comparison with other energy sources, made an assessment forecast of growth of the nuclear energy supporters in the Republic of Turkey. The students made a presentation with suggestions how to solve the case. In the end the competent jury selected a project, which fullest matched the evaluation criteria. The work demonstrated the program of interface with specific target groups of Turkey with the help of different communication capabilities. The team of Turkish students, which presented the best case solution took part in the final of the TeMP 2013 Tournament, where it defended the project before the Rosatom CEO and top managers of the Corporation. The Rosatom CEO personally congratulated the Turkish students with their good presentation and handed in souvenirs.

 

 

This year the Tournament of young professionals will be the forth one. This is one of the key events of the nuclear industry aimed at attraction of young employees. Thousands of students and graduating students of leading technical and science Universities will contest the right to become a member of the large international team of Rosatom State Corporation. The Turkish students are ready to re-assert themselves this year too. The Tournament will determine young professional leaders, who will develop the nuclear industry in their countries after graduation.

«TeMP» is a contest within the framework of which students and graduating students of NRNU MEPhI in the online mode deal with solution of real operation tasks proposed by organizations of Rosatom Russian State Corporation. Experts, employees of the nuclear industry, help the participants to develop complicated projects at the online platform of the Tournament using the crowdsourcing principle (unification of a large number of participants around a single task in order to get various ideas about its solution and identify leaders). The best projects are annually presented and defended before the top management of Rosatom State Corporation with participation of its CEO.
